Mr. Caldwell did used to say that a lot. He wasn't a guidance counselor though. He was just a dean. I remember him trading advice and disciplinary favors for tamales. He really loved tamales. He was also convinced that he knew my extended family. He didn't. He just knew people with remarkably similar names. He was also thoroughly shocked by both the existence of Johnny Depp and the film Edward Scissorhands.
