Gedutu almost definitely have a teleconferencing function. And in a universe not too far away, Izzy can and does call Evey any time she wants. This time to check in for the holidays. Her new partner, Cecile is close by also eager to hear what new things are happening on Earth. Meanwhile, Evey can't wait to hear about the sort of things going on in space. And of course, Izzy has to say hi to Thor. 

It's not the universe we know. It is perhaps a happier one. But a different one nonetheless.
