Evey was so put off by drinking after that one time at RAF's party that they've barely touched a drop of booze since. They're the ultimate lightweight too so it might be for the best. 

Here we see a glimpse of a reality where these two are finally reunited and are ringing in 2026. Maybe this is the canon ending for this story? Maybe it's something else entirely. We'll surely know by 2026.
